Wienerwirt
– tradition, homeliness and modern wine elegance
In a beautiful part of Graz, on Mariatroster Straße, stands the Wienerwirt – a homely inn that dates back to 1917, when the ancestor of today’s Kullnig family opened its doors. The ambience reflects bourgeois elegance and invites guests into a rustic yet modern, hospitable haven – whether it’s for an intimate lunch, a family celebration or a business meeting. Upon entering, you’ll find a traditionally furnished inn, a beautiful winter garden pavilion with modern details and a pleasant atmosphere, filled with light and greenery.
The Wienerwirt wine cabinet occupies a special place in this story. On the right side of the dining room, it greets the visitor as a mighty, illuminated wall upon entering. The freestanding black metal structure, surrounded by three-sided safety insulating glass, reveals the luxury of the wines within. Metal shelves with light wood accents and thoughtful lighting create an almost gallery-like setting that presents each bottle as a work of art.
The showcase was created in collaboration with master craftsman Breitenthaler , who, with his carpentry precision, combined technical perfection, functionality and timeless aesthetics. The result is a space where the homeliness of a Wienerwirt meets modern wine elegance.
The whole is rounded off by an underground wine cellar, which the inn carefully maintains. It is embraced by selected wines, excellent food, and honest stories of those who know how to enjoy without exaggeration - as a pure and authentic view of Austrian hospitality .
